The first annual COCIR eHealth summit to be held on 18-19 November in Brussels will show how innovative technologies are key to overcoming healthcare challenges across Europe, according to COCIR (European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electrometrical and Healthcare IT Industry).
Bringing key European stakeholders in science, industry, and the user base together, the meeting will look at how healthcare information technology can improve quality of care and access to care, and connect individual hospitals to the broader healthcare community, rendering them more efficient in the process, COCIR said.
"There is an urgent need to transform healthcare delivery at the patient level, share best practices, and to integrate currently fragmented care processes," COCIR Secretary General Nicole Denjoy said in a statement, adding that hospitals will play a key role in participating in this paradigm shift.
Some of the topics to be covered include mobile health (mHealth), big data, electronic health records, hospital IT investments, electronic patient records deployment, and integrated care and chronic diseases, COCIR said. For more information, visit the event website.
