Case-based diagnosis training to feature at ECR 2015

The popular case-based diagnosis training event on all body regions is to be held again during ECR 2015, and this time it will include a session about using medical imaging to recognize implanted devices like pacemakers and hearing aids.

To help with the event, Dr. Soraya Robinson, a radiologist at Diagnose Zentrum Urania in Vienna, is urging all participants to send common and rare images of implanted devices so other attendees can see the challenges in identifying the objects, as well as details of other interesting cases. The special training day is scheduled to take place on Sunday 8 March 2015.

Images should be an x-ray, ultrasound, CT, or MRI, and include details on the patient, such as his or her gender, age, and history, and the kind of device implanted in the person. Images must be received by 15 October and can be emailed to [email protected].

Robinson is the past chairman of the ECR head and neck subcommittee and a member of the program planning committee for ECR 2014 and 2015. In February 2014, she was made a professor by the University of Vienna. Her special focus is head and neck imaging, including maxillofacial radiology.
