The European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical, and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR) held a breakfast workshop on care coordination and telehealth at last week's International Digital Health and Care Congress in London.
The workshop included discussions on how telehealth can help deliver quality care to chronically ill patients, reduce the economic burden of chronic care, and improve health outcomes, according to COCIR. COCIR said the key challenge for telehealth is to scale up beyond projects to become routine practice.
In a statement, COCIR secretary general Nicole Denjoy said it's important in telehealth to change organizational processes to adapt to new care pathways and to integrate telehealth as a component of care coordination.
