BIR seeks nominations for award

The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) is requesting nominations for the BIR/Toshiba Mayneord Eponymous Lecture and Award.

An annual award made to an individual or a group of collaborators in recognition of recent ore current contributions in the field of radiology, the lecture is sponsored by Toshiba Medical Systemsand will be given at the annual U.K. Radiological Congress (UKRC) in June 2015. The BIR said the topic of the lecture should fit with the theme of the congress, which covers all aspects of diagnostic imaging but will focus this year on functional imaging and leadership/team working.

Those interested in nominating a candidate must email their citation (500-word limit) about their chosen nominee to here by 31 December. Nominations will be judged by the BIR's Awards & Prizes Committee, which will include a representative from Toshiba.

Toshiba will present an honorarium of 1,000 pounds (1,252 euros) and a plaque to the recipient following the lecture. The lecture was founded in 1984 in memory of BIR past president and honorary member VM Mayneord.
