Samsung has joined the Coordination Industries Committee for the Radiological Industry (COCIR) as a corporate member. The organization represents the European medical imaging, electromedical, and healthcare IT industries.
Samsung became an active player in the healthcare industry following its acquisition in 2011 of South Korean ultrasound firm Medison, which was previously a COCIR associate member, Samsung said.
The membership will further COCIR's goal of bringing together strategic players to build a reservoir of global competence to deliver high-quality healthcare products and services in Europe and beyond, COCIR said.
