Members of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) were recently targeted in a credit card fraud scheme.
The fraudsters masqueraded as a travel agency and placed calls asking for credit card details to finalize bookings for the upcoming EANM meeting in Hamburg, Germany.
"Please be aware that these are not third-party providers of the EANM and are not linked in any way to the EANM," the association said in an email. "Therefore, please end all calls immediately and do not share your credit card details!"
EANM is also advising members to contact the association directly if they are unsure whether calls are trustworthy or if they have any further questions.
