Orthopedic digital imaging developer EOS Imaging has received the CE Mark for its spineEOS online 3D surgical planning software for the EOS system.
The software is for spine surgery based on EOS biplanar imaging. It is the company's third EOSapp software, along with hipEOS and kneeEOS.
The spineEOS software allows a surgeon to use 3D imaging by the EOS system to create a treatment plan to achieve improved sagittal alignment for pediatric patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and adults with degenerative or deformative spine conditions, according to the company. The software provides a treatment simulation based on reference values and the patient's vertebrae shape and position in 3D. The expected surgical correction can be visualized and captured in a planning report.
In other news, EOS has signed an exclusive agreement with the medical technology company Stryker to promote its products in the U.K. market. Under the terms of the agreement, Stryker's U.K. sales force in the European Spine business will promote EOS products to Stryker's existing and prospective customers.
