Agfa HealthCare will unveil its new Enterprise Imaging platform at the upcoming RSNA 2015 meeting in Chicago.
Available via a modular approach, the new platform is designed to simplify the creation of a single and comprehensive patient imaging record, according to the vendor. Hospitals can start from a variety of points, including enterprise viewing, image capture, storage, and universal access via a healthcare portal or specialized diagnostic departmental versions.
Physicians and patients can access images through a secure portal, while departments such as radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, and nursing care have access to specialized tools and workflows, Agfa said. Virtual, real-time collaboration and sharing tools have also been included to support collaboration along the care continuum, according to the firm.
Other features include a vendor-neutral archive (VNA) and information life-cycle management capability to provide information management tools, Agfa said. For deployment across multiple facilities, Agfa will install a local proxy server to enable a shared workflow engine.
In addition, Enterprise Imaging can be provided by the company as a software-as-a-service. Onsite proxy services are also available, Agfa said. Enterprise Imaging also supports coding and data mining.
Eight integrated packages are available with the new platform: Enterprise Imaging for Radiology, Enterprise Imaging for Cardiology, Enterprise EHR Imaging, Regional Health, VNA, Image Exchange, Universal View, and Business Analytics.
All applications and services are provided on a single 64-bit IT platform that serves as a single integration point into the electronic medical record, Agfa said. A multiserver configuration confers scalability, availability, and disaster recovery benefits, according to the firm.
