The Customer Solutions Division of Siemens Healthcare is marketing a consulting model to help improve workflows in radiology departments of hospitals and radiology practices.
Act on Radiology is based on models for industry processes, and combines them with medical guidelines and current scientific results. Siemens consultants initially evaluate existing workflow efficiency from patient arrival through completion of a radiology report. More than 500 individual criteria are analyzed to determine the maturity level of complex clinical processes, the company said.
The consulting team -- whose members include radiologists, workflow consultants, IT professionals, economists, engineers, and medical technicians -- identifes and develops measures for improvement with the help of a database containing international guidelines and reference values from the world's leading hospitals.
University Hospital Göttingen in Germany was one of the first customers to use this new service, according to Siemens.
