The European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical, and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR) has named Klaus-Dieter Axt as its new secretary general.
Klaus-Dieter Axt will take over from Annabel Seebohm, who has served in the position since 1 June 2022.
Axt joins COCIR from the European Engineering Industries Association, where he has served as executive director since January 2021. Among his first priorities will be supporting the revision of the Medical Device Regulation, advancing implementation of the European Health Data Space Regulation, contributing to the development of the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan, and ensuring the successful execution of the Innovative Health Initiative.
Axt will begin the transition into his new role in June and will assume full responsibilities by September 2025, COCIR said.
