Fujifilm Healthcare Europe this week presented two new ultrasound scanners, as well as an updated version of its Echelon Smart Plus with Realise Plus 1.5-tesla MRI scanner at the ECR 2022 Overture.

The new ultrasound scanners are part of the company's Arietta line and include Arietta 850 DeepInsight and Arietta 650 DeepInsight. Both systems are the first scanners to include Fujifilm's DeepInsight cognitive ultrasound technology, which is designed to reduce variability in scans and enable more accurate exams.

Both new scanners also incorporate improvements designed to streamline workflow and reduce operator stress, and they include clinical applications to cover a wide range of fields. The systems also include technologies such as real-time tissue elastography for color-coding tissue and shear-wave measurement, for measuring tissue stiffness. An attenuation function is designed to enable early detection of hepatic disease.

In MRI, Fujiilm showed an upgraded edition of its Echelon Smart Plus with Realise Plus scanner, which includes a new version of the company's SynergyDrive automation suite, developed to address bottlenecks in MRI workflow. The new version includes enhancements that lead to faster speeds and image quality, as well as expanded clinical applications.

The new version of SynergyDrive can increase speed by up to 50% compared with the previous iteration, and it improves high-speed image quality across all MRI sequences. It also enables high image quality during free-breathing exams, without compromising on scan times, according to Fujifilm.

Fujifilm said the new version of Echelon Smart Plus is well suited for mid-sized imaging centers, outpatient clinics, and private practices.
