Philips Healthcare parent Royal Philips has signed a five-year innovation and collaboration agreement with Vithas Group, the second-largest private healthcare group in Spain.
Under the deal, Philips will provide Vithas Group with diagnostic imaging and image viewing solutions as well as minimally invasive intervention technology. In addition, Vithas Group will get fast access to Philips innovations by becoming a Philips "reference technology partner" in Spain.
The agreement includes replacing existing Vithas Group MR systems and installing four new hybrid operating rooms with ceiling-mounted live-image guidance systems. Philips will also manage CT systems, x-ray equipment, and dose management solutions.
The partnership also includes a corporate diagnostic imaging network for reviewing, postprocessing, and sharing data from advanced medical imaging. The network will support more than 100 radiologists as well as more than 5,000 referring physicians. It also allows patients to securely view diagnostic reports and images on computers and mobile devices.
Furthermore, the two companies will collaborate on technological projects in Vithas Group reference centers. The projects will advance scientific research in key areas and train Vithas professionals in new technologies and clinical procedures.
