Italian ultrasound vendor Esaote fulfilled an agreement with WDM, a large medical device manufacturer in China, to install over 50 digital radiography (DR) systems in the country.
In March, Esaote delivered and installed more than 50 M40-1A portable digital radiography units in Italy to support COVID-19 imaging efforts. The low weight and small size of the devices makes them usable at the bedside, and thus effective for emergency situations.
Esaote began offering DR systems in March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the company installed over 50 systems in Italy in two months. Because of the installation at Italian health facilities, Esaote said it expects there will be a structured partnership with national health systems in the future.
