ViewRay wins order from University Hospital Zurich

Image-guided radiation therapy developer ViewRay has received an order for its MRIdian MRI-guided radiation therapy system from the University Hospital Zurich in Switzerland.

The institution will be the first in Switzerland to implement MRIdian. The system will be used for MRI-guided adaptive radiotherapy -- particularly for treating oligometastatic disease, as well as head and neck and lung cancers, according to ViewRay. It will also be employed as part of the hospital's radiomics biomarker research program, a collaborative project with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich for investigating the prediction and assessment of treatment response.
