Carestream Health has announced its wireless and fixed DRX Plus 4343 digital x-ray (DXR) detectors are available in both gadolinium (GOS) scintillators for general radiology and cesium (CsI) scintillators aimed at pediatric and other dose-sensitive applications.
The 43 x 43 cm detectors can be used with both Carestream's DRX-Evolution Plus and DRX-Ascend systems, as well as tabletop use, the company said. The wireless configuration can be paired with the DRX-Revolution mobile imaging system.
The bucky in Carestream's room-based systems has been modified to accept the larger-format DRX detectors. The detectors are suited to chest x-rays, extremity exams, and general radiography imaging studies, and can be used for bariatric patients as well, according to the vendor.
Finally, the DRX Plus detectors offer rapid image capture to help users streamline workflow and deliver higher dose efficiency to optimize image quality at low doses. DRX Plus detectors can be submerged in 1 m of water for 30 minutes without failure, earning it an IPX Level 7 rating for liquid resistance, and the IEC standard 60529, the company said.
