South Dublin-based UPMC Beacon Hospital has installed BridgeHead Software's integrated backup software to protect the data in the hospital's MEDITECH Health Care Information System (HCIS).
Following the hospital's recent upgrade from MEDITECH 5.5 to MEDITECH 5.6, software was needed to provide backup and recovery of both clinical and administrative data stored on the HCIS.
BridgeHead's integrated server-less backup will allow the hospital to take advantage of a dedicated backup server controlling the backup schedule, ensuring that a static image of the database is backed up to the tape library, BridgeHead and Beacon said.
