Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has taken an order for two TrueBeam STx medical linear accelerators from the Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC) at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K.
NCCC, currently equipped with eight linear accelerators, intends to replace its older machines over time. The devices are scheduled for installation next year.
NCCC serves 1.7 million people from across the Northumberland, Tyne-and-Wear, and Durham region.
