Radiation oncology firm Elekta has sold three Synergy treatment systems equipped with Agility 160-leaf multileaf collimator to Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center in the Netherlands.
The hospital's radiation oncology department began to use its first system on 10 September. This is the first cancer treatment clinic in the Netherlands to use an Agility-equipped system.
The second system will be installed at its satellite treatment facility in Nijmegen, and is expected to become clinically operational in November. The third system will be installed at a satellite clinic in Boxmeer.
Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center is currently using four other Elekta linear accelerators, one of which will also be upgraded with an Agility multileaf collimator.
