Medical imaging vendor Planmed announced that its Nuance Excel full-field digital mammography (FFDM) system has passed European Reference Organization for Quality Assured Breast Screening and Diagnostic Services (EUREF) type testing.
The EUREF type testing takes into account the requirements of both diagnostic and screening examinations, according to the Helsinki-headquartered company.
The Nuance Excel FFDM system includes the company's proprietary MaxView breast positioning system and its side access patient positioning for optimal working ergonomics. It features a large 24 x 31 cm amorphous selenium (a-Se) detector and reportedly uses a low radiation dose.
