Brainlab unveils surgical information hub

Image-guided therapy firm Brainlab has introduced Buzz Digital operating room (OR), a surgical information hardware and software package.

Buzz supports a spectrum of surgical suite functions, ranging from DICOM image viewing to complete digital OR functionality such as video management and documentation, according to the vendor. The core of the system is a 42-inch display with a slim, multitouch interface that displays images in full HD, Brainlab said.

Users can connect with a multitude of video signals and route content to multiple, full HD displays, the company said. Data sources and displays can be managed with drag-and-drop functionality, and medical image data can be viewed through the system's integrated interactive DICOM viewer. Procedures can also be documented with screenshots or dual-channel recording, Brainlab said.

Buzz is available now in either "on-wall" or "in-wall" configurations; first shipments are expected to begin in November.
