Philips supplies cardiac system to new U.K. facility

Philips Healthcare has announced the sale of an Allura Xper FD10 x-ray system to Luton and Dunstable Hospital in the U.K. for its new 5.5 million pound (6.84 million euro) Cardiac Centre.

The Allura FD10 system offers a high level of automatic positioning movements to support complex interventional cardiac and cardiovascular procedures. The Cardiac Centre's system includes Xper Swing, which facilitates the capture of required coronary images as a dual-axis rotation angiogram. StentBoost enhances stent visualization in the coronary arteries, showing a stent in relation to the vessel walls during a procedure.

Philips CVIS, a cardiovascular information management system, and its Xcelera, an integrated multimodality image management system for cardiovascular information, also were purchased by Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
