The Norwegian Cancer Consortium (NCC) and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have renewed a collaborative agreement to continue to work together to advance cancer research.
The NCC, which includes Oslo University Hospital, Stavanger University Hospital, and the Cancer Registry of Norway, joined MD Anderson's global academic network of cancer centers, hospitals, and universities in 2007.
The Sister Institution Network also includes member institutions in Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, Peru, Taiwan, and the U.K.
The announcement was made at the start of the annual Global Academic Programs (GAP) conference being held between 14 and 16 May in Oslo. This is the first year that the GAP conference is not being held in Houston, TX, at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The conference, which is expected to attract a worldwide audience of cancer researchers, is being jointly sponsored by NCC and MD Anderson.
