The lackluster worldwide economy took its toll on net sales and operating profit for PACS developer Sectra in the company's third fiscal quarter (end-January 31).
In the third quarter, net sales dipped to 196.1 million kronor ($29.4 million U.S.), compared with 200.7 million kronor ($30.1 million U.S.) in the same quarter of 2011. Operating profit decreased to 5.4 million kronor ($810,000 U.S.), compared with 15.7 million kronor ($2.3 million U.S.) in the same quarter a year ago.
For the nine-month period, Sectra's net sales totaled 584.6 million kronor ($87.7 million U.S.). Excluding a nonrecurring item from the sale of its MicroDose operations, sales totaled 554.6 million kronor ($83.2 million U.S.), compared with 586.4 million kronor ($88 million U.S.) in the same period of last fiscal year.
Nine-month operating profit totaled 56.7 million kronor ($85 million U.S.). Excluding the nonrecurring item, operating profit declined to 31.7 million kronor ($4.7 million U.S.).
