Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)-Europe, an association promoting interoperability in health information and communication technology, has announced the creation of IHE-Services to offer vendor-neutral interoperability testing services for health systems and projects.
IHE-Services and independent test engineering laboratory Kereval, will partner to extend the tools and techniques developed for the annual IHE European Connectathon to provide interoperability testing for national e-health projects, healthcare IT users in regional hospitals, or vendors developing new software platforms. More than 300 software engineers from 90 organizations participated in the IHE European Connectathon annual marathon.
The Brussels-based nonprofit organization said that it is offering the service in response to a growing demand from e-health initiatives across Europe.
INRIA, the French national institute for research in computer science and control, transferred technology for the creation of IHE-Services. INRIA also will provide some engineers to work with the IHE-Services team and Kereval.
