Siemens Healthcare has signed a 10-year partnership agreement with Evangelisches Krankenhaus Bielefeld, a German hospital operator, to provide modality equipment, Syngo.via imaging software, and consulting services for a new radiology suite.
Siemens will assist the healthcare organization with project planning, provide consulting services to optimize patient treatment workflow in the radiology department, and equip an entirely new radiology suite.
The agreement covers the supply and implementation of more than 80 medical systems including CT and MRI scanners and 30 ultrasound systems, and includes comprehensive training throughout the 10 year period. The company will also provide comprehensive maintenance services for more than 8,000 items of medical equipment from some 300 different manufacturers.
Evangelisches Krankenhaus Bielefeld and affiliated Mara Hospital are located in North Rhine-Westphalia. Together they operate 1,500 beds, with approximately 53,000 inpatient, and more than 73,000 outpatient visits per year, and have a staff of 4,200.
Siemens Financial Services Division is providing financing for the project. The contract is designed around monthly usage rates for the equipment, providing flexibility for changing requirements based on need and the ability to add new technologies as they become available.
