The European Society of Radiology (ESR), in collaboration with the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR), has begun accepting applications for its ESR Research Seed Grants for 2020.

The two organizations have cited artificial intelligence (AI) and cardiac imaging as their funding priorities for next year. Their scheme will provide funding for up to 10 projects and pilot studies that could lead to more expansive research and additional funding opportunities.

Applicants must be working in a European radiology department and be an ESR member. The project should not have received funding from another grant or be part of another ongoing project application and should have a single principal investigator who will receive the grant. However, collaboration with contributors will not be excluded from consideration.

Applicants may request grants between 4,000 and 8,000 euros for a period of 12 months. They should provide details on how funding will be allocated for the duration of the project and how the project will proceed when the funding period ends.

Recipients will be announced at ECR 2020. Further details are available on the EIBIR website.
