Aidence secures CE Mark for updated AI software

Netherlands-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm Aidence has received CE Mark regulatory approval for version 2 of its Veye Chest pulmonary nodule detection software.

In addition to automating the detection of pulmonary nodules, Veye Chest version 2 can determine nodule diameter, volume, growth rate, and composition. In effect, the software can automate the entire process of nodule management, according to the firm.

The accuracy of these new features has been validated in a clinical study recently conducted at National Health Service (NHS) Lothian and the University of Edinburgh in the U.K. Several hospitals in the Netherlands are currently testing the software and plan to upgrade their Veye Chest software to version 2 in September, Aidence said.
