The ESR has co-signed a joint healthcare statement for more collaboration in European Health Data Space (EHDS) implementation.
In total, 39 leading representatives from the EU health community have published a joint statement welcoming the publication of the EHDS regulation in the EU's Official Journal. This includes the need to establish an inclusive and well-resourced stakeholder forum to ensure the effective implementation of the EHDS.
The coalition is calling for early and sustained investment in the forum’s operations, including measures to promote inclusivity, transparency, and actionable contributions. Key recommendations include setting up the stakeholder forum, investing in capacity building and funding, and promoting transparency in the EHDS board.
The group reiterates its commitment to active and constructive collaboration with policymakers. The coalition said that with these in mind, Europe can create a health data ecosystem that improves healthcare outcomes.
