Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has won a contract to outfit a new acute care hospital in the U.K. with medical imaging equipment.
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust of Birmingham, U.K., will purchase four Magnetom Verio 3-tesla MR scanners, four Somatom Definition AS+ 128-slice CT units, and three SPECT/CT systems for the new hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, which is currently being constructed. The installations are expected to go online in 2010, Siemens said.
