The organizers of the EURAMED rocc-n-roll project has released a strategic research agenda and roadmap for medical applications of ionizing radiation and related radiation protection.
The documents give an overview of the current state of research in this field and outline a path forward for future European research efforts based on identified gaps and research needs. EURAMED rocc-n-roll is a flagship project of pillar 3 of the SAMIRA action plan, which focuses on promoting innovation and the technological development of medical ionizing radiation applications.
The project ran from September 2020 to August 2023 and brought together a consortium of experts from various disciplines including radiation biology, medical physics and dosimetry, ethics, clinical expertise, regulatory and health policy, AI, and industry experts.
