Mammography-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsies can assist with the management of suspicious microcalcifications discovered by mammography. That's the view of the authors of a recent study covered in our Women's Imaging Community.

Achieving optimum imaging of transgender patients is still an emerging field. In another top story this week, we have news of a recent study in this area.

Meanwhile, a research group from Geneva, Switzerland, is calling for the use of amyloid PET scans for Alzheimer's disease early in the diagnostic workup of memory clinic patients. The team published its results on 8 May.

Finally, U.K. investigators have found that people with a severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, had significantly lower cancer screening attendance than those without such conditions.
