Ion Beam Applications (IBA) is touting its qualification for the second round of a public tender launched by the Spanish Ministry of Health as a proton therapy equipment supplier.
The Ministry of Health and the Amancio Ortega Foundation signed an agreement in 2021, under which the latter agreed to donate up to 280 million euros to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of 10 proton therapy units to be installed across the country.
The public tender, which has a total of three rounds, launched in July 2022, and chooses the companies that are eligible to provide proton therapy equipment to the Spain National Health System.
