The consensus view is that radiation shielding is no longer needed for many imaging examinations, yet this notion is proving tough for some people to accept. In a video interview at ECR 2022, we discussed this topical issue with Jonathan McNulty, PhD, from Dublin. He also spoke about radiographers' participation at the Vienna congress.
McNulty is associate professor at the University College Dublin School of Medicine, Ireland. He is currently vice principal for teaching and learning at the university's College of Health and Agricultural Sciences and Associate Dean in its School of Medicine. In January 2022, he became the editor in chief of Radiography, and he is past president of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies.
