U.K. teleradiology services provider Hexarad and the St George's University of London's Afro-Caribbean Society have awarded their first diversity in radiology scholarship.
The scholarship offers mentorship and financial assistance for research to Black, Asian, and minority ethnic medical students in the U.K. who are exploring radiology careers. It is also supported by the Royal College of Radiologists.
The winner, medical student Tom Jia of Imperial College London, was announced at a leadership event hosted by Hexarad and the St George's University of London's Afro-Caribbean Society that included speakers such as Dr. Aoife Molloy of NHS Improvement, Dr. William Ramsden of the Royal College of Radiologists, and Dr. Cindy Chew of the University of Glasgow.
Applications for the 2022 scholarship will open in January, Hexarad said.
