Zap Surgical Systems announced that its new Zap-X gyroscopic radiosurgery platform for the treatment of brain tumors will be installed at a center in Switzerland.
The platform will be installed at the Swiss Neuro Radiosurgery Center, an organization within the Swiss Clinical Neuroscience Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, the company said in a statement.
Zap-X uses gyroscopic motion to direct radiosurgical beams from a multitude of angles, precisely concentrating radiation to the tumor target, Zap Surgical said. The Swiss center estimated patients will begin to receive treatment with Zap-X this summer.
