The German Society of Radiology (DRG) has highlighted a document that offers guidance on treating disease in children and adolescents who were previously infected with COVID-19.

The task of pediatric radiology is primarily to rule out other acute infectious or surgically treated causes and to provide diagnostic support for intensive care patients, noted the statement.

Abdominal ultrasound and chest x-ray are recommended initially for imaging and focus searches, followed possibly by MRI (abdominal pelvis, whole body) or CT (thorax) scans.
