Radiation oncology vendor Elekta is establishing a base in Egypt through the acquisition of its Cairo-based distributor Horizon for Medical Appliances.
Elekta plans to open a new office in Cairo in March and will be recruiting customer service and support/administrative personnel. The company said that it feels the new base in Egypt is needed in light of the shortage of radiotherapy delivery systems and software solutions for cancer and brain disorders.
