The European Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ESHNR) has launched a mentoring scheme for head and neck radiologists.

Not only does the program aim to improve the quality of head and neck radiology service in their local environments but ESHNR also hopes it will help radiologists grow their expertise, develop their careers, enable research, and access educational opportunities.

"Hopefully we can make things better with the programme in areas where there is less support and infrastructure. Helping people find a better work-life balance with family orientation is also quite an important goal," said Prof. Soraya Robinson from Vienna, who is coordinating the scheme along with Dr. Steve Connor from London.

ESHNR members in their fourth year of training onwards can apply to become mentees. Members who have practiced independently in head and neck radiology for five years can apply to be mentors. Applications should be submitted via the ESHNR website.

The goals for the society are to promote head and neck radiology, improve service to patients, ensure that interdisciplinary colleagues see their local radiologists as reliable partners who have a positive impact on patient management, increase high-quality research and teaching, and rejuvenate the society and expand it geographically.
