Simon Guest, a U.K. radiographer who worked at Furness General Hospital in Barrow, Cumbria, has died of COVID-19, the BBC reported on 19 April.
"Simon was a modest man and would be stunned by the outpouring of grief, and love being shown for him," lead radiographer Rose Byron said in a statement released by the hospital. "It was an honor and a privilege to have worked with him."
He had a great passion for life and enjoyed motorbikes, nice cars, guitars and music, Byron added.
"We are all devastated by the news, and determined to support Simon's family and friends and ensure his memory will live on," stated Aaron Cummins, chief executive of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust, in the BBC report.
