Indian radiologist sentenced over sex determination tests

An Indian radiologist and sonologist has been sentenced to three years in jail for violating sections of India's Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PCPNDT) of 1994, according to a report published on 15 May in the Hindustan Times.

Dr. Nina Mathrani was found guilty on 14 May of conducting illegal sex determination tests in 2011, along with the late Dr. M. Ranade, the report said. She has been released on bail.
