The implementation of 3D printing in healthcare has been relatively slow in France, though there is promise for growth in the area of 3D-printed medical devices, according to an article by 3Dprint.com.
Though many French companies, including medical institutions, have shown interest in 3D printing, they have been relatively slow to implement the technology, noted Denis Hamant, founder of French 3D printing distributor Kreos. One of the primary roadblocks to integrating 3D printing is the complex and time-consuming nature of postprocessing.
"In comparison with other countries, the French companies are cautious in developing additive manufacturing," he said. "We hope to democratize additive manufacturing on the French market."
