Sales increases in all of its operating areas helped PACS vendor Sectra to a 2018/2019 first-quarter financial performance that exceeded the company's goals.
For the period (end-30 July), Sectra had net sales of 306.1 million Swedish kronor (29.1 million euros), up 15.5% from the 265.1 million kronor (25.2 million euros) reported in the first quarter last year. Sales increased 11.5% on a currency-comparable basis.
Sectra had profit before tax of 42.6 million kronor (4.1 million euros), compared with 28.8 million kronor (2.7 million euros) in the same period a year ago. The increased profit was aided by improvements in net financial items due to currency fluctuations, primarily in U.S. dollars, Sectra said.
The U.S. is currently the firm's most exciting growth market for its Imaging IT Solutions business, which received orders in the quarter from Stanford University Hospital in California and Sanford Health, a hospital chain operating primarily in North and South Dakota, President Torbjörn Kronander said.
