A French court has rejected an appeal filed by Varian Medical Systems to block the University Hospital of Tours' purchase of the TomoTherapy system from radiation oncology firm Accuray.
The ruling marks Varian's final appeal to overturn the hospital's contract with Accuray and block its use of TomoTherapy technology, Accuray said. University Hospital of Tours is the first hospital in France and the first public hospital in the Centre-Val de Loire region to install both Accuray's TomoTherapy and Varian's CyberKnife systems, according to the firm.
