Evidence of 7-tesla MRI's clinical usefulness remains in relatively short supply so a new musculoskeletal study from Pisa, Italy, seems certain to generate interest. The researchers have optimized sequences for in vivo articular cartilage imaging at 7-tesla MRI and investigated the potential of ultrahigh-field MRI in detecting early changes of the articular cartilage related to physiological aging.
