Radiation oncology firm Accuray said the Radiotherapy and Medical Oncology Center of Sidi Abdellah, Algeria, is now treating cancer patients with two TomoTherapy systems.
The systems are the first TomoTherapy units to be installed in Africa, and the initial TomoTherapy treatment was successfully completed in February for a breast cancer patient, according to the vendor. The newly built center has also purchased Accuray's CyberKnife M6 system, which is scheduled for installation by the end of 2018, the firm said.
