Radiation oncology firm Elekta plans to install several systems within the Vienna Hospital Association (Wiener Krankenanstaltenverbund).
The deal will include four Versa HD and two Elekta Infinity linear accelerators, brachytherapy afterloaders, a Mosaiq oncology information system, and a Monaco treatment planning system, as well as long-term service contracts.
The equipment and software will be installed at two new radiation oncology departments in Vienna: Hietzing Hospital and SozialmedizinischesZentrumOst - Donauspital in a long-term public-private partnership contract. All equipment and software will be delivered over the next 24 months.
The Vienna Hospital Association, which includes all hospitals and geriatric centers in Vienna, is one of the largest hospital operators in Europe, Elekta said. The association will purchase the Elekta equipment and software through Vamed, an international company in the field of planning, building, and managing public healthcare facilities. Elekta will act as a subcontractor to Vamed.
The order was signed and booked during the first quarter of Elekta's fiscal year 2016-2017. The first shipment of equipment is scheduled for May 2017.
