The U.K. Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) has commended the award of new contracts for stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy services for the next seven years by National Health Service (NHS) England.
Dr. Roger Taylor, vice president clinical oncology at the RCR, has extolled the benefits of stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy treatments for patients with brain tumors and brain metastases and the cost efficiencies of these services to the NHS.
Taylor additionally recommended that advanced forms of radiotherapy should be made available at local level and will help NHS England draft its planned Radiotherapy Services Review.
