U.K. steps up recruitment drive; diabetes crisis in Middle East; digital breast tomo advances

One of the more intriguing sessions at next month's ECR in Vienna will be the U.K.'s pitch to recruit overseas radiologists. A 10% increase in the country's radiology training residencies is planned in 2015, but these doctors won't become experienced, productive radiologists until 2020. In the meantime, the demand for imaging continues to soar, creating a major skill shortage.
