Thanks to 8.5 million U.K. pounds (10.9 million euros) in funding aimed at reducing patient waiting times, several hospitals in Wales will soon be receiving new CT or MR scanners, according to a report by BBC News.
The Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff will be procuring CT scanners, while Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital and Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen will be purchasing MR scanners. The funds include 2.5 million pounds (3.2 million euros) announced by the Welsh government last year, according to the BBC.
