Argentina has furnished its medical imaging department at the World Cup training base in Brazil with an MRI system and portable ultrasound equipment from Esaote, the company said.
The company's O-scan extremity MRI system allows for easy installation right in the stadium, Argentina's team physician Dr. Alejandro Rolon said. The team's full medical imaging department also includes portable ultrasound that can be used to scan players right on the field if necessary.
With musculotendinous pathologies diagnosed with ultrasound on the field, the MRI system can confirm the diagnosis back at camp and help optimize treatment, Rolon said.
